Mike Phelan is determined to try and make a success of the season after finally being confirmed as the new permanent head coach of Hull City.
Phelan took over as caretaker boss of the Tigers just before the Premier League season got under way and helped City record wins over champions Leicester City and Swansea City in their first two games back in the top-flight.

They have since failed to register a victory in their next five games, but Phelan is still confident that he and his players can make the campaign one to remember for the Hull faithful.
He told the club’s official website: “It’s been a while in coming, but I’m happy with the position I am now in and looking forward to the challenge ahead.
“It has taken time, but things have to be done correctly with these matters. What is important now is that we move forward and help this squad of players be successful for this football club.
“I’m looking forward to working with this group of players that has done so well so far. I’m looking forward to what is to come now, so roll on the next few games.”
The first test for Phelan in his newly-confirmed role is a trip to the South Coast to take on Bournemouth on Saturday.
The two sides are currently separated by just one point and two positions in the Premier League table, having not met since the 2004/05 season, when both clubs were in League One.
Hull are available at 15/4 to register a win on Saturday and are 16/1 to triumph by a 2-1 scoreline, with Scotland forward Robert Snodgrass priced at 15/4 to score at any time for City.
