GEOFF CAMERON has been named amongst a five-man shortlist for the United States ‘Male Soccer Player-of-the-Year’ award.
The Potters midfielder has been nominated alongside Jozy Altidore, Clint Dempsey, Bobby Wood and Michael Bradley for the prestigious award.
It’s a positive reflection on Cameron, who had impressed for both Club and country prior to his unfortunate knee injury which has seen him out of action since the win over Hull City in October.
Away from the bet365 Stadium, he has played 16 games for America during 2016, including 10 in official competitions.
The winner of the ‘Male Soccer Player-of-the-Year’ award will be announced on Friday 9th December, with voting made by national team coaches, former players and select members of the media.
Competition is stiff for Cameron as he goes head-to-head for the trophy with three-time winner Dempsey, 2013 victor Altidore and the current holder Bradley.
