Diego Godin says Wednesday’s trip to Barcelona is the ‘biggest test’ his Atletico Madrid side have faced so far this season.
Atleti are 19/4 to leave Camp Nou with all three points, a win for Barca is 4/7 and a draw can be backed at 3/1.
The last time these two teams met, Atletico knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League thanks to a 3-2 aggregate win. The side from the Spanish capital lost 2-1 at the Camp Nou, yet that away goal scored by Fernando Torres proved significant as Diego Simeone’s men recorded a 2-0 victory at the Vicente Calderon.
Wednesday evening’s game will be streamed live for bet365 customers and Los Rojiblancos have a habit of scoring on their trips to Catalonia and with Torres in particular enjoying himself against the Blaugrana.
Since re-joining his boyhood club, the former Chelsea striker has netted three times against the Catalans and bet365 offer him at 10/3 (4.33) to do so once more. Whether Torres starts at the Camp Nou remains to be seen, although one man guaranteed to be in the visitors’ starting line-up is Antoine Griezmann.
The France international has been in electric form in the last couple of games, scoring a brace in each of the last two league wins over Celta Vigo and Sporting Gijon, while it was his double at the Calderon which ultimately sank Barca’s European hopes last season.
Griezmann can be backed at 2/1 (3.00) to find the back the back of the net once more and he is a man for the big occasion, scoring last season not only against Barcelona, but also away at Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
For the hosts, it is Luis Suarez who leads the market, with last season’s top scorer in La Liga offered at 4/6 (1.67) to find the back of the net. Perhaps of more interest to punters will be the price of 5/6 (1.83) for Lionel Messi to find the back of the net, with those odds look generous for him to score at home irrespective of the opponent.

Los Rojiblancos have conceded just once in five matches so far this season, in their La Liga opener against Alaves, but come up against a Barelona attack that has scored 12 goals in their last two outings.
Godin insists Ateltico are ready for their trip to Camp Nou but admits they will have to be at their best to get a result on Wednesday.
“There is no rest and we are ready to play against the best,” he told the club’s website.
“Barcelona at home are a very tough opponent so we must give 120% effort – not only are they very strong in attack but also in their defence.
“We did things well in our opening two games but did not win, but we must believe in our efforts and direction.
“We got good feelings and good goals after this (Sporting Gijon) game.”
