Referee appointed for weekend’s game with Manchester United…
The 30-year-old official’s last game in charge of the Potters also came in Manchester in front of the television cameras when Mark Hughes’ side were defeated by Manchester City back in April.
It was one of four Stoke games Madley officiated last season including the away win over Swansea City, the home defeat to Crystal Palace and the 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
Madley will take charge of his first Premier League game at Old Trafford, having previously overseen the Red Devils’ wins away at Watford and Shrewsbury Town last season respectively.
He has taken charge of five games so far this season, dishing out 27 yellow cards and one red to Leicester’s Marcin Wasilewski during the Foxes’ EFL Cup loss to Chelsea earlier this month.
