Everton manager Ronald Koeman insists there is no way he will sell Romelu Lukaku in the January transfer window. The 23-year-old has found the net seven times in the Premier League already this term and is 12/5 to score at any time against his former club Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Lukaku was linked with a return to Stamford Bridge in the summer but is contracted to Everton until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
“He is a big striker who will always generate interest from big clubs and from bigger clubs than Everton but the boy is 23 and he took the right decision to stay,” said Koeman.
“Maybe we will get the same problem next season. I read some stories in the press about January – no way, no way.
“Bayern Munich, Juventus, [Real] Madrid, Barcelona? He stays until the end of the season at least.
“OK, that needs to be the next step for him and then we as Evertonian people can be proud that he made that step, but let’s score goals. That’s the best answer he can give on the pitch.”
Everton, 5/2 to clinch a top-six finish this season, have a terrible record at Stamford Bridge but are 20/1 to beat Antonio Conte’s side 1-0 on Saturday.
