Scott Brown says Celtic’s performance in their 7-0 thrashing at Barcelona was “unacceptable”.
Barcelona grabbed an early goal through Lionel Messi and Celtic missed a penalty with the score at 1-0 as Moussa Dembele’s effort was saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
It was then one-way traffic as Barcelona doubled their advantage and the Catalan giants added a further five goals after the break.
Brown was left disappointed by the manner of the loss but he insists Celtic can bounce back in their remaining Champions League group games.
“It’s the second half that we’re really disappointed with,” said Brown.
“To lose five goals in 45 minutes is unacceptable. Everyone is disappointed in that changing room.”
He added: “It’s 7-0. I’m not going to come away from here laughing and joking, am I? It’s hard to take, but they are a great team.
“Now we need to bounce back. We’ve got Man City in the next game and we need to try and get something at Celtic Park.
Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach complete Group C and they play on Wednesday as rain saw their match put back by a day.
City are 2/5 to claim the win, Monchengladbach can be backed at 15/2 and a draw is 17/4.
