The European Club Association recognised the “outstanding achievements” of the Whites in the 2015/16 season.
Real Madrid have been named ‘European Club of the Year 2016’ by the ECA (European Club Association). In the seventh edition of the awards, the madridista club was recognised for “their outstanding achievements during the 2015/16 season”, in winning their eleventh European Cup. Pedro López Jiménez, the vice-president of Real Madrid, collected the award during the ECA General Assembly in Geneva (Switzerland).
