Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio does not think Monday’s Premier League game against relegation-threatened Newcastle United will be easy.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad are currently in Spain for a warm weather training camp. But Portugal international Patricio is determined to maintain the winning habit when they return from Marbella.
Wolves have won their last three league matches against Leicester City, West Ham United and Everton. Scoring 10 goals in the process – and reached the fifth round of the FA Cup by beating Shrewsbury Town in a replay earlier this week.
Patricio said of the Newcastle match. “It’s going to be a difficult game, as all the games in the Premier League are. It will be a game against an excellent team, but let’s do as we’ve been doing, to fight to win, to play our game and be focused.
“We’re playing at home, in our stadium, in front of our fans. And I’d like to thank our fans for their support, whether it’s home or away.
“Our objective is always to try as hard as possible to reach a better position and. The higher up we can get in the league table, the better.
“I am growing as a player and that is also important, because I’m going to keep working as I want to grow and progress even more.”
Wolves can be backed at 8/11 to beat Newcastle on Monday and at 1/1 to keep a clean sheet against Rafa Benitez’s side.
