Pochettino has unfinished business in Tottenham. The Argentine tactician does not hide that he wants to once again lead the Londoners.
Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he still has affection for Tottenham and hopes to return to the club one day to thank fans with at least one trophy. The Argentine manager made London one of the best teams on the Old Continent, but in November lost his position after a series of unconvincing results, and his place was taken by Jose Mourinho.
Pochettino spent five years at the helm of Tottenham, under his leadership Spurs finished once in second place and twice in third place in the Premier League. In the 2018/19 season, the Londoners made it to the Champions League final, but were broken by Liverpool in the title dispute.
“The adventure in Tottenham was incredible, though it did not end well. Deep down in my heart and soul, I am sure our paths will cross again. Since the day I left the club, I have been dreaming of returning there and finishing “We started so close to winning the right trophies – the Premier League and the Champions League. I’m trying to keep going and I’m motivated for the next challenge, but deep down I would like to come back, because it’s a special club with special fans,” said Pochettino to BT Sport.
The 48-year-old Argentinian has been out of work since his dismissal in November, and has been diligently in recent weeks with his managerial post in Newcastle.
