James Milner has credited manager Jurgen Klopp’s summer signings with inspiring Liverpool’s impressive start to their Premier League campaign.
The Reds, who have already beaten Chelsea, Arsenal andLeicester this season, thrashed Hull City 5-1 on Saturday with two penalties from Milner helping to secure the emphatic win.
Klopp oversaw some heavy spending in the summer, acquiring Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum, Loris Karius, Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan.
Speaking to LFC TV, 30-year-old Milner said: “If you don’t perform the shirt will be taken off you and someone will else get the chance and you don’t know how long they will have that shirt.”
“That is really pleasing. You need that competition for places to drive each other on and hopefully we can keep improving as a team.”/ skysports.com
