Bale not seeking Premier League return. Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has revealed the Welshman is happy at Real Madrid, quashing rumours of a Premier League return.
Former Tottenham Hotspur star Bale left the English top flight when sold to Madrid for a reported €91 million at the start of the 2013/14 season and has had, overall, a successful time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As well as winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey. The 30-year-old forward has also been part of the Real Madrid side who won four Champions League titles between the 2013/14 and 2017/18 seasons.
Bale was even named man of the match in the final two years ago against Liverpool, netting a brace which included a sensational overhead kick, but things have taken a turn for the worse since then and the Welshman has been regularly booed by the Real Madrid faithful.
Injuries have meant he has been limited to only 14 appearances in La Liga this season, scoring twice, and rumours of a return to the Premier League. Perhaps via Manchester United, have intensified.
But Bale’s agent Barnett has claimed he could not fathom why the 30-year-old would want to leave Madrid.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4, he said: “I have no idea what his value is. His salary is quite high and also where he wants to go is very important in his life. I can’t put a figure on it.
“As I’ve always said, he’s quite happy at Madrid – he has a very nice lifestyle. I don’t see why he wouldn’t see his career out in Madrid probably.
“To come back and play [in the Premier League] would be a big thing but I don’t think he wants to do that at the moment as he’s quite happy to play at Real Madrid.”
Bale will hope to feature in Real’s next league game when they face Eibar on 14th June.
