The Black Cats have managed to garner just two points so far since Moyes replaced Sam Allardyce in the summer.
They are bottom of the table and on Saturday they travel to face Stoke City, the only other club in the top flight without a win.
I’d love to get that first win under our belts so that we could start to look up. David Moyes
Sunderland are 10/3 to get their breakthrough victory against Mark Hughes’ men and, according to Moyes, it doesn’t matter how they achieve victory – as long as it comes soon.
“I want us to play well – playing well and performing will lead to good results. But I would take a win and if it means doing that, then I’ll have to find a way to do it, whatever I can,” said the Scot.
“We would love to get a feel-good factor running through the club, I’d love to get that first win under our belts so that we could start to look up.”
Sunderland have been traditionally slow starters over recent seasons, repeatedly leaving themselves battling to stave off relegation as a result. They are 8/13 to drop out of the top flight this season and Moyes is fully aware that they must get moving in the right direction sooner rather than later.
He is urging his players to scrap for anything they can get in the game against Stoke.
“While we are where we are at the moment, we are struggling, so we have to dig in and we have to try to pick up points. If it’s one, if it’s three, we have to pick up as many points as we can at this moment in time,” said Moyes.
Stoke are 19/20 to beat Sunderland while the draw is 13/5 at the bet365 Stadium.
