Johnson Receives England Recall

Right back in Three Lions squad for World Cup qualifiers

GLEN JOHNSON has been handed an England recall after Gareth Southgate named him in his maiden 23-man squad this evening.
The former Liverpool full-back last featured for the Three Lions against Uruguay at the World Cup Finals in 2014, and has been overlooked since.

However, after making an impressive return to first team action at the bet365 Stadium this term, following a long-term injury lay-off, the 32-year-old has forced himself back into international contention.
Johnson will be hoping to add to his 54 caps during the coming week as England take on Malta and Slovenia in World Cup 2018 qualifiers.
