Manchester United played their way back into form, Zlatan Ibrahimovic getting two goals in a 3-1 victory away at Swansea. Two goals in the space of six first half minutes from first Paul Pogba and then Ibrahimovic gave United the advantage.
The Swede then scored his second and United’s third on 33 minutes and, though Mike van der Hoorn got the home side on the scoresheet, they never really threatened a comeback.
Swansea started the game stuck in the bottom three in the table and will stay there for a while longer, United dominating the game from the start.
They were rewarded on the quarter of an hour when Pogba gave them the lead with an excellent volley.
Ibrahimovic had failed to score in his last six Premier League games but ended that run with a shot after 20 minutes though Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski should have done better.
The game was effectively made safe by the Swede just after half an hour when he evaded a challenge from Angel Rangel and slotted the ball home for a 3-0 half-time lead.
Van der Hoorn reduced the deficit for the Swans, heading home from Gylfi Sigurdsson’s free kick but, despite 20 minutes still remaining, they succumbed to a sixth defeat in seven games with just five points from their first 11 games.
United, with aspirations at the top of the table, climb to sixth place with the win and are six points behind Arsenal in fourth.
Jose Mourinho’s team are next in action after the international break, at home to the Gunners on 19th November.
They are 13/8 for the win, Arsene Wenger’s team are 13/8 and the draw is priced at 23/10.
United are 14/1 to win the game 2-0.
