Hughes: Imbula in contention to start

Stoke manager impressed with midfielder Giannelli Imbula in training and could bring him in for suspended Allen.

Stoke City’s record signing Giannelli Imbula could start on Sunday’s trip to Watford after impressing manager Mark Hughes in training.

Imbula has not played in the Premier League since September but Joe Allen’s suspension and his determination to get back into the team has put him in contention this weekend.

Hughes told stokecityfc.com: “We have had a good response from taking him out of the side and it could be that we bring him back this weekend given the circumstances – I certainly wouldn’t have any qualms with that.”
