City stopper buoyant after starring in draw with Manchester United…
LEE GRANT admits he took great pleasure from helping his teammates claim the Club’s first ever Premier League point at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The on-loan Derby County stopper enjoyed a fine afternoon in front of the live television cameras, thwarting the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba as the side secured a deserved 1-1 draw.
Speaking following the game, the 33-year-old spoke of his delight at being able to make a contribution to the cause after Mark Hughes handed him his third successive start for the Potters.
“I have enjoyed today immensely,” he told bet365.
“It was fantastic to perform well in this game and it was equally as pleasing to see the players in front of me so organised and disciplined.
“We did a lot of work on them earlier in the week and thankfully we were all prepared for what they were going to throw at us.
“I knew I was going to be involved early on, because that is usually what happens at places like Old Trafford.”
“I made a couple of saves which I enjoyed, and they were important moments for me personally, and for the team.”
He added: “Eventually we were able to come away from the game with a point, which is a fantastic reward for our efforts.”
