Fury wary of ‘dangerous’ Wilder. Tyson Fury has revealed that he still considers Deontay Wilder a threat and believes that the US fighter is a danger now he has something to prove.

Fury and Wilder first clashed for the WBC heavyweight title in Los Angeles in December 2018 where the pair fought out a contentious draw which many thought Fury had won.

Wilder knocked the Gypsy King down on more than one occasion at the Staples Center but the British fighter recovered to land more punches than his opponent, leading him to believe he had won the bout.

Fury made sure the outcome was definitive in their second meeting in February, however, when he sent Wilder to the canvas in the seventh round to claim a dominant victory.

Fury, who is unbeaten in 31 fights as a professional, is expected to face Wilder for a third time later this year before a potential all-British meeting with Anthony Joshua.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Fury admitted that despite the manner of his victory in their most recent clash, he is not taking the Bronze Bomber lightly.

“Heavyweight boxing takes one punch. Dismantle Deontay Wilder? It only takes one punch off Deontay Wilder,” Fury said.

“Still a very dangerous opponent, still a very hungry man, who is coming in there to prove his worth, to prove he can come back and become a two-time heavyweight champion.”

“More dangerous than the last fight, for sure.”
