Valencia coasted into the last 16 of the Europa League as they thrashed Rapid Vienna 4-0 to complete a 10-0 triumph, the biggest aggregate win in the competition’s history. The Austrians were already all but out having lost the first leg 6-0 in Spain, and they suffered another heavy defeat after second-half goals from Rodrigo (59), Sofiane Feghouli (64), Pablo Piatti (72) and Ruben Vezo (88) saw Gary Neville’s side progress in style. Elsewhere in the competition, Karim Bellarabi scored twice as Bayer Leverkusen beat Sporting 3-1 at the BayArena.

The Germans were defending a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, and were in command after half an hour when winger Bellarabi netted his second goal of the tie. Joao Mario (38) pulled one back for the Portugese side, but Bellarabi (65) cracked in another before Hakan Calhanoglu (87) struck a late volley.Borussia Dortmund took their place in the last 16 after beating Porto 1-0 at the Estadio do Dragao.

The Bundesliga club were 2-0 up from the first leg and put the tie beyond doubt after 23 minutes when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s shot hit the crossbar and went in off goalkeeper Iker Casillas.Serie A title chasers Napoli, though, went out after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Villarreal.

Marek Hamsik (17) cancelled out Villarreal’s 1-0 first-leg lead, but a fortuitous equaliser from Tomas Pina (59) just before the hour proved enough to see the Spanish side through.Fenerbahce drew 1-1 at Lokomotiv Moscow, as they progressed 3-1 on aggregate. After Alan Kasaev had seen a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside, Aleksandr Samedov (45) gave the Railwaymen hope after netting a close-range effort just before half-time.

However, the Turkish side held out and Mehmet Topal (83) settled matters late on with a looping header from a near-post corner. Miroslav Klose finally scored his first goal of the season as Lazio dumped Galatasaray out with a 3-1 home win to progress 4-2 on aggregate.Marco Parolo headed the Italians in front (59) before Felipe Anderson (61) quickly doubled the advantage.

Yasin Oztekin (63) immediately reduced the arrears, but Klose (72) made sure of safe progress when he tapped in Stefan Radu’s centre from six yards.
