Potters man helps Switzerland to victory…
XHERDAN SHAQIRI completed 80 minutes as Switzerland defeated Andorra in their World Cup Qualifier on Monday night.
The City man celebrated his 25th birthday by assisting the Swiss’ second goal, delivering a cross for Admir Mehmedi whose header secured a 2-1 triumph for Vladimir Petkovic’s side.
Fabian Schar opened the scoring for Switzerland with an early first half penalty, while Andorra’s 90th minute strike was nothing but a consolation with the points already sealed for Shaqiri and co.
Victory means the Swiss top Group B, maintaining their unbeaten run having recorded three wins from as many games.
Meanwhile Thibaud Verlinden could feature for Belgium U19s against Russia in their U19 European Championship Qualifier later this evening.
