Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has praised the influence of Mario Lemina in providing balance to his team as the Serie A champions adjust to life after Paul Pogba.
The French ace departed for Manchester United last month leaving Juventus with a significant gap to plug in their engine room.
Allegri’s attempts to recruit Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg to fill the void left by Pogba failed and so the task has fallen instead to 23-year-old Lemina.
Having brought the French-born Gabon international from Marseille on loan last season, Juventus exercised their option to make the move permanent this summer.
Allegri feels the defensive midfielder is doing a solid job in allowing the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira offer more going forward.
Lemina is likely to start as Juve get their Champions League campaign up and running against Sevilla on Wednesday.
The sides also met in the group stage 12 months ago, with Juventus gaining a 2-0 victory on home soil.
The Italian champions are unbeaten in their last 17 European games at the Juventus Stadium, dating back to April 2013.
Juventus are 11/20 to win the Group H encounter while Europa League winners Sevilla are 6/1 and the draw is 16/5.
Juve have won all three domestic league games this season while Sevilla have grabbed seven points from nine so far in La Liga.
Beaten Champions League finalists in 2014/15, Juventus are 4/7 to win Group H.
