Inter Milan vs Roma
2017/18 Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 21 January 2018
Kick-Off: 19:45 UK,
Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (Milan).
Both Inter and Roma will be keen on getting their flagging forms back on track as they lock horns in what will be Sunday’s biggest game at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The Nerazzurri started off well, but have struggled as of late. Luciano Spalletti’s men saw their unbeaten run come to an abrupt end as they shockingly lost to Udinese on home turf on December 16th and since then they haven’t won since. Winless in their last five, they will obviously hope to rebound here. If one includes their two bad results in the Coppa Italia, they are winless in their last seven games, as they had to go all the way to penalties to beat lower tier side Pordenone in the Coppa Italia before losing to AC Milan in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Roma are without a win in their last four games which has allowed Napoli and Juventus to break away and Lazio have managed to push into the top four. However, the Nerazzurri have Mauro Icardi, who has netted a whopping 18 out of Inter’s 35 goals this season. Notably, most of his goals have come at home for his team and he’s scored in consecutive meetings with Roma so expect him to net yet again here.
Both teams have been impressive in front of goal. In fact, in the last four meetings between the Lupi and the Nerazzurri, both teams have scored, so expect the same to take place in what should be an entertaining Sunday evening clash. Both sides have been conceding quite a few goals so this should also be quite an open-ended match.
