Galatasaray vs Antalyaspor
Turkey – Super Lig
Date: Monday, 12 February 2018
Kick-Off at 17:00 UK
Venue: Turk Telekom Stadiyumu (Istanbul).
Galatasaray is going to host Antalyaspor in the closing match of the Turkish Super Lig 21st round. The hosts want to keep challenging for the top position, while the away side is struggling to keep their heads above the water.
Home side is two points behind Basaksehir who are sitting on the top spot. They didn’t manage to take advantage of their rivals’ hiccup in the last round, and eventually failed to a defeat away to Sivasspor. Galatasaray are the most efficient side in the competition, and Bafetimbi Gomis has been in particularly good form with 15 goals scored so far in the season. However, their defensive work should be a bit better if they dint want to keep spilling points in the important matches. They have allowed just one point to their visitors during the season and have been the best home team in the league.
Antalyaspor are having severe financial problems and star players like Samuel Eto’o and Jeremy Menez left the club during the winter transfer window. They are two points above the red line and in the last two matches they managed to book four vital points. Hamza Hamzaoglu’s side needs to improve their away performances since they have picked up only three points at away grounds. However, it is hard to expect that they can win something from this clash.
Galatasaray v Antalyaspor: Head-to-head
There were a lot of draw matches recently when these two sides were facing each other. Since 2014, they have split points in the five occasions, while Galatasaray managed to celebrate two times. Antalyaspor booked only one win since the end of 2011, but the main characteristic of their clashes is the high number of goals. In the last six occasions, both teams were able to score at least once.
Galatasaray v Antalyaspor: Prediction
Galatasaray shouldn’t miss this chance to remain competitive for taking the top spot and they should book an easy win since the visitors are very bad when playing away from home.
Since their head to head clashes have been so efficient, we should be able to see at least three goals in this one too.
